                                    At the Term of the County Court of Hunt County when setting

County of Hunt

                                    Probate & other like purposes began and held in the town of Greenville on the 25 day of Feby A. D. 1867 present and presiding the Hon. R. S. T. Henderson, Judge of the County Court of Hunt County, John Mason, Sheriff, A. Camron, County Clerk on the first day of said term of the Court to wit on the 25 day of February A. D. 1867 the following cause came on to be heard.

 

No. 283   Ordered by the Court that H. BELL be and he is hereby authorized to have apprenticed to him SARAH M. VANHUSS and that he is required to come forward and give bond as the law directs in the sum of two hundred & fifty dollars.

                                    Know All Men By These Present that Whereas H. BELL having been

County of Hunt               allowed to have apprenticed to him by the Probate Court of Hunt County a minor SARAH M. VANHUSS aged about 9 years old, said minor to be apprenticed till she arrives at the age of twenty. Now therefore we the said H. BELL as principal and H. B. SIMMONS as surety acknowledge ourselves bound to pay to the County Judge of Hunt County or his successors in office in the full sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars conditioned as follows if the said H. BELL will furnish the above named minor sufficient food and clothing to treat the minor humanly, to teach or cause to be taught the said minor to read & write intelibently (intelligently?) if her mind is sufficient of such education to teach her to do domestic labor about a house &c and to furnish medical attendance in case of sickness and for general and faithful compliance with the law regulating apprentices then this obligation shall be null and void otherwise to remain in full force and effect.
